Superposition Gallery is pleased to present Alex Anderson: A Homecoming — Material Realities, a solo booth at Seattle Art Fair, July 23–26, 2026. You will find us at Booth C7, 800 Occidental Ave S. This is our first presentation at the fair, and Anderson's return to the city where he was born as he relocates to Seattle from Los Angeles in August.

The premise of the booth begins with something Anderson said while the work was still in the studio: "I want to make an object with a surface that challenges the perception of its physicality."

What follows from that is a proposition about looking. The sculpture's material body remains constant while its perceptual body continually reorganizes. The object resists being known. The longer one looks, the less stable it becomes. Edges soften into image, image hardens back into edge, and scale ceases to be a fixed quantity. The sculpture isn't the work. The perceptual field is.
